Child Lab

The Child Lab is located in the Budapest Zoo, where we investigate how 2- to 8-year-old children solve various playful tasks. The lab itself is a separate room next to the Darwin Lab, where children can study biological processes and psychological phenomena, and can compare the behavioral repertoire of different species. Visitors to the Zoo are invited to contribute to our investigations by volunteering to participate in our tasks. These tasks are presented to children as short games, but they also provide valuable data for our studies on child cognition.

Activities in the Child Lab are partly funded by the SOMICS grant awarded by the European Research Council.
